Dr. Johan Reis, C. Psych.

Dr. Reis is a doctoral graduate of University of Toronto, licensed counseling and school psychologist, long time faculty at the University of Waterloo, with wide experience in clinical/educational assessment and counseling of students with academic and emotional problems; consultant to Wilfred-Laurier University, Conestoga College, Read Clinic, Templeton Training and Development. Among his many professional associations, Dr. Reis is currently Senior Psychologist in Health/Medical Services Unit at University of Waterloo. Dr. Reis is a specialist in psychological and psychoeducational assessment and treatment of a diverse array of medical and psychological conditions. He is Clinical Director of Stonebridge Psychological Services and Collegiate Psychological Services.

Melanie Wiegand, M.A., PhD Student (Supervised)

Melanie Wiegand is a trained professional with a Master of Arts degree (M.A.) in Clinical Psychology from York University, which she obtained in 2008. She completed clinical training at the Toronto Rehabilitation Institute and the York University Psychology Clinic. In these settings she completed both psychological and neuropsychological assessments, and also psychotherapy interventions using a variety of treatment models. She worked with clients experiencing cognitive and psychological sequelae due to acquired as well as developmental injuries/illnesses. She recently completed her predoctoral residency with the London Clinical Psychology Residency Consortium in London, ON. She completed rotations in Neurology and Neurosurgery, Epilepsy, Specialized Geriatrics, and Child/Adolescent Assessment. Her work included conducting various assessments and working with clinical teams to develop appropriate treatment recommendations. She currently works under the supervision of Dr. Reis participating in psychological assessments in a private practice setting.

Ava Agar, PhD (Supervised)

Ava Agar holds a doctorate of philosophy degree in clinical psychology from the University of Saskatchewan and she completed her residency with the Waterloo Region Consortium. She will be registering with the College of Psychologists of Ontario and working in supervised practice. She also earned a master's degree in psychology from the University of British Columbia. Ava works with individuals from adolescence onward. Her clinical training experiences include working with student, community, and health populations, conducting neuropsychological, psychoeducational, and psychodiagnostic assessments and providing cognitive-behavioural and mindfulness-based individual and group interventions. At Stonebridge Psychological Services, she provides assessments under the supervision of Dr. Johan Reis. She is also the coordinator of psychological assessments at the University of Waterloo, where she provides group therapy as well as psychodiagnostic and psychoeducational assessment for a diverse array of psychological conditions.
